Fall “Capsule” Wardrobe

Summer is winding down, and as sad as I am to see the sweet summer days fade away, I am definitely getting eager for football, fall clothes, and cozy evenings. After having my colors done this summer with Amber of House of Colour Siouxland, I’ve been inspired to update + curate my wardrobe to fit my color season.

My biggest takeaway for fall after having my colors done: swap out my staple black for brown tones like camel, chocolate and caramel. I thought I couldn’t survive without black, but as I’ve been swapping out black for browns and tans, I feel SO much better in these colors and they definitely feel more complimentary on me.

Note: If you don’t know your colors yet, only one of the four color seasons has black as a color to wear, so chances are black is NOT actually your best neutral. 😉

Able Agnes Ruched Sleeve Tee
I got this last year and it’s lovely quality and a great fit! I would suggest sizing up.

A New Day Ruffled Blouse
This does NOT look special online but I love it in person! I have the brown and white version and it’s a great neutral that gets compliments every time I wear it!

J. Crew Cotton Cashmere Crew
I think I’ll be heading back to buy at least one more of these sweaters. They are so dreamy – a great cut (fits TTS) – and a really nice medium weight fabric that can transition from early fall into winter. I have the caramel color but will likely be grabbing a dove version, too.

J. Crew Juliette Collarless Sweater Blazer
This cozy sweater blazer is lightweight and has a really nice cut that’s cozy and casual but looks more pulled together than a traditional cardigan.

Universal Thread Sweater Vest
I have this in two colors and the photos online don’t do it justice! It’s super cute and a great transition piece between late summer/fall.

J. Crew Rollneck Pullover Sweater
This is a fantastic chunky sweater! I suggest sizing up for a more relaxed fit, which was what I wanted in this sweater. It’s machine washable on the gentle cycle and so flattering.

AGolde 90’s Pinch Waist Jeans
I didn’t think I could give up my Madwell High Rise Skinny Jeans but after falling in love with these jeans from AGolde, I’m not sure I ever want to go back. They are my absolute happy fit, and LONG enough for someone as tall as me – most of the AGolde jeans just aren’t long enough! Tip: Buy them TIGHT since the goal is really to break them in and let them stretch out over time.

Banana Republic Essential Utility Jacket
Perfect for throwing over jeans on colder fall days.

Universal Thread Vintage Cropped Jeans
A great alternative to those that don’t want to spend AGolde prices! These jeans are really amazing for the price!

Everlane Easy Pants
I have these ordered, but I also have a dressier option that I have from Everlane from a couple years ago that I wear all the time in an olive color. Hoping these provide a fun change-up from my regular denim.

Tory Burch Chelsea Lug Bootie
I have been on the lookout for a great looking bootie with the lug sole. These felt like the right amount of chunky for me without feeling clunky. They are a beautiful shade of brown and I can see myself wearing them all winter long. This bootie is definitely an investment, but I did get them discounted on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Rothy’s Pointe in Ecru
Love this shade that makes for a stellar neutral. I also have the pointe in fawn – another stellar neutral!

Rothy’s Lace Up Sneaker
I LOVE these sneakers. I have had them for a year and just bought Joe a men’s pair – he loves them as much as I do! They go with nearly everything.

Madewell Frances Skimmer Mule
I snagged these on sale from Nordstrom Rack to replace my beloved Universal Thread animal-print mules. Hoping they work!

As we look toward winter, I have my eyes on this jacket from Everlane as soon as it’s back in stock to replace my old black puffer.

OTHER ITEMS
-A great chambray shirt (I have an old one from J. Crew)
-Comfy pair of black leggings (I prefer THESE over all others)
-A couple neat-looking, comfy crew neck sweatshirts (I snagged a few of THESE and sized up for the comfy fit)
-Two or three dresses suitable for fall (I’m still looking for a great fall floral midi dress)
