NINE MONTHS IN (the last photo I took, just a coup NINE MONTHS IN (the last photo I took, just a couple hours before Hollace was born) and NINE MONTS OUT.

Can’t believe (truly) that we have had him with us for nine months. Hollace, you are every bit as sweet and gentle and peaceful as you were the day you were born. We love you, Hollace! Aka: Hollace Walrus, Holly Bear, Holly Ollie, Gus Gus, Gungus (ha, Ainsley’s nickname), Ace, Acer, Baby Buddy Boy
Tomorrow marks the end of a chapter in our family’s life! After 7 1/2 years at his current employer @joeyhofmeyer’s last day is upon us. It’s a bittersweet goodbye to some truly amazing people and a job that brought us to Iowa in the first place. We are SO thankful for all this job has taught us and provided for our family, and yet we are also eagerly anticipating a new chapter for Joe as he begins work at a family owned company in our area.
.
.
In the meantime, he will be enjoying a few weeks off before he begins and checking off every “honey to-do” item on my list!
Thursday mornings are for mommy/Hollace time while Thursday mornings are for mommy/Hollace time while the big kids are all in school. I love my time with this one and it makes me wonder what the heck I did when I had one kid all the time?! 😅🥰
Someone asked me about how it is to have four kids Someone asked me about how it is to have four kids and honestly, all I could do was gush about the joy this baby has brought to every one of our family members. He is adored beyond measure and our hearts could burst on the regular. Sure, I feel behind 24/7, sometimes crabby and worn thin, and a hot mess most everywhere I go, but man I wouldn’t trade this kid or the craziness for anything.

Sweet little sister. She said her new year’s res Sweet little sister. She said her new year’s resolution on her school paper was to “learn to play piano” and so she is doing just that! My mom has been having her work through Ainsley’s piano book and today I found her practicing on her own. What a beautiful thing to watch your kids learn new things!
Heading home after a wonderful two days of Beautyc Heading home after a wonderful two days of Beautycounter leadership meetings. There are so many words I could say, but I’ll just stick with this…. I’m thankful for a circle of women who once made me so nervous I wanted to pee my pants who have now become people I can cry on stage in front of (true story) who I can whether storms with, who I can show up my true and vulnerable self with, and who are some of the kindest and most amazing people I know. There are a lot of places I could have landed in this journey, but man I’m so thankful for being right in the place that feels like home in so many ways.

Thank you @beautycounter @karatrousdale @tracydelisle and the entire team for everything you have and continue to do!
So much fun watching Ainsley do her first performa So much fun watching Ainsley do her first performance of the year! What a fun thing it is to see your kids learn new skills and find things they love to do!

At the beginning of 2022 @8kmong sent me this pla At the beginning of 2022 @8kmong sent me this plant with a note saying she hoped this plant would represent new life in my business and in our team.
.
.
The year 2021 was a transition time in my business and I spent much of 2022 trying to find new footing and navigating a team which looked different than it had in the past.
2022 was also, as it turns out, a huge year of transition for Beautycounter, too, as they embraced new leadership and adjusted their sails for the plans new leadership would put in place.
.
.
As I hold this plant, 12 months later, it seems an apt representation of the team and company that I love.
.
.
Some leaves and branches have been pruned away, sometimes I wondered if it was growing at all, sometimes I wondered if it was dying. And yet a year later, it’s clear this plant is thriving!
.
.
I feel similarly about this team and this business and this company. SO much has changed and yet I stand at the beginning of a new year feeling more excited, energized and encouraged than I could have hoped to feel a year ago at this same time.
.
.
If your heart has a yearning for something new, a creative outlet, an additional stream of income, or just having a bit more FUN, then I would love to talk with you about working together in the new year! Message me any time.
2022… the hardest personal, professional, emotio 2022… the hardest personal, professional, emotional, physical, spiritual year of my life. I’ve been tested, grown and matured in so many ways - oftentimes in ways that I would have preferred to skip right over. I think there’s a tendency after a year like the one I’ve had to say “see ya later, 2022!” and kick the year to the curb for good measure. But the gifts of this year have been many. Maturity, spiritual dependence, emotional growth, resilience, and so much more. I can leave this year saying I’m a better person and a more dependent Christ follower and have grown in many of the fruits of the spirit this year.
.
.
It’s also good for my heart to look back at these photos and remember that both good and hard coexist.
.
.
2022, you were a year to remember in many ways. Thank you for the lessons you taught.
